Some sketches of the great Iris Apfel. Two things I love about her style- her knack for one-color dressing and also her fantastic accessory stacking. She may be 92, but just think of how strong her wrists must be from all of those bangles..
One of the most stylish New Yorkers is Erika Bearman of OscarPRGirl. Throughout the past years it's been amazing to see all of her different outfits. Above are some of my favorite looks she's styled on herself.
Spent an entire day last week drawing shoes (which I can attest is an absolutely fine way to spend ones day). Will the simple pointed flat ever go out of style? I'm not sure it's possible. They are capable of elongating the leg in such a wonderful way (especially when the toe cleavage is just right), that I think they will always look very smart on most women. Particularly so, when they are adorned with an exciting amount of black dots of varying sizes that don't exactly make sense-(but then again aren't completely illogical either). As they say- "A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men." Roald Dahl -J.W.
iPad drawing for your viewing pleasure..on this fine Thursday afternoon : ).
Not sure what exactly it is about the combo, but something about cotton candy pink and blue is feeling very fresh.
Very excited to receive my business cards last week! Now it's just a matter of hand personalizing all 500 of them : )
Love the cool breeze of a fountain on a warm spring day
(All drawings taken from my notebooks, either drawn on the subway or on the go)
There's something about a simple drawing that gets me every time. That's why I like to draw quickly and on the go. When all I've got is a Micron and 15 minutes-I've got to eliminate anything extraneous and get down to the basics.
When one simple, beautiful line can convey so much emotion-you know you're onto something good.
